1 INFORMATION ON THE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA AND DETAILS OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

1.1 We are delighted that you have visited our website and thank you for your interest. Below we inform you of how we process your personal data when you use our site. Personal data refers to any information that can be used to identify you personally.

1.2 The data controller for this website, within the meaning of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), is Julie London. The data controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data.

1.3 This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security purposes and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (for example, orders or enquiries addressed to the data controller). You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" string of characters and the padlock symbol in your browser bar.

2 COLLECTION OF DATA WHEN VISITING OUR WEBSITE

When you use our website for purely informational purposes — that is, if you do not register or provide us with information in any other way — we only collect the data that your browser transmits to our server (server log files). When you visit our site, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display the site to you:

  • The website visited

  • The date and time of access

  • The amount of data sent in bytes

  • The source or referral from which you accessed the page

  • The browser used

  • The operating system used

  • The IP address used (where applicable: in anonymised form)

Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website. The data will not be passed on or used in any other way. We do, however, reserve the right to review server log files at a later date should there be concrete evidence of unlawful use.

3 COOKIES

In order to make visiting our website an enjoyable experience and to enable the use of certain features, we use cookies on various pages. These are small text files stored on your device. Some cookies are deleted at the end of the browser session (session cookies). Others remain on your device and allow us, or our partner companies (third-party cookies), to recognise your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).

Cookies collect and process certain user information such as browsing and location data as well as IP addresses. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period, which may vary depending on the cookie.

In some cases, cookies are used to simplify the ordering process by saving settings. Where personal data is also processed by individual cookies that we have set, processing takes place in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR for the performance of a contract, or in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interests.

Please note: You can configure your browser to be notified when cookies are set and to decide individually whether to accept them. Please be aware that the functionality of our site may be limited if cookies are not accepted.

4 CONTACT

When you contact us (for example, via the contact form or by email), personal data is collected. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of responding to your enquiry or for the associated technical administration. The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. If your contact is aimed at concluding a contract, the additional legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR.

5 DATA PROCESSING WHEN OPENING A CUSTOMER ACCOUNT AND FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF A CONTRACT

In accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR, personal data continues to be collected and processed when you provide it to us for the performance of a contract or when opening a customer account. Your customer account may be deleted at any time by sending a message to the address of the data controller mentioned above.

6 USE OF YOUR DATA FOR DIRECT MARKETING

6.1 — Email newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will send you regular information about our offers. The only mandatory piece of information is your email address. We use a double opt-in procedure. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in the newsletter.

6.2 — Newsletter to existing customers: If you have provided us with your email address when purchasing goods or services, we reserve the right to send you regular offers for similar products by email. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. You may object to this at any time.

7 DATA PROCESSING FOR ORDER MANAGEMENT

7.1 The personal data we collect is passed on to the delivery company responsible for shipping, to the extent that this is necessary. We pass on your payment details to the relevant credit institution for the purpose of processing payment. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR.

7.2 — Payment service providers: We work with providers such as PayPal and SOFORT. Data is transferred in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR solely for the purpose of processing payments.

8 REVIEW REMINDER

We use your email address to send a one-time reminder to submit a review of your order, subject to your express consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR.

9 USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKS: SOCIAL PLUGINS

We use "Shariff"-type solutions for Facebook, Google+ and Instagram. This ensures that no connection is established with the servers of these social networks unless you actively click on the relevant button.

10 ONLINE MARKETING

We use tools such as DoubleClick by Google and Google AdWords Conversion Tracking to optimise our marketing and display relevant advertisements, on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR.

11 WEB ANALYTICS SERVICES

This site uses Google Analytics with the "_anonymizeIp()" extension, ensuring that IP addresses are anonymised. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the site and compile activity reports.

12 TARGETING / REMARKETING

We use the Facebook Pixel (subject to consent, Art. 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR) and Google AdWords Remarketing to display interest-based advertisements.

13 RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

Applicable law grants you comprehensive rights in relation to the data controller:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 UK GDPR)

  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 UK GDPR)

  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 UK GDPR)

  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 UK GDPR)

  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 UK GDPR)

  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) UK GDPR)

  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 UK GDPR)

RIGHT TO OBJECT: You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data based on our legitimate interest or for the purposes of direct marketing.

14 RETENTION PERIOD FOR PERSONAL DATA

The retention period is based on the relevant statutory retention deadlines (for example, commercial and tax obligations). Once this period has expired, the corresponding data is routinely deleted, provided it is no longer required for the performance or initiation of a contract.
